December/January sewing with Sandy

Hey there…. I’m back!   December was crazy busy and then both Mr. CnW and I got the flu after Christmas.   It knocked us flat and I’m actually still coughing 5 weeks later.   Geesh!

Anyway…There was no Woolies group at the end of December which is when we have our show and tell.  So, we had December and January projects to share this week.

Here we go.   As always, Sandy’s are first and mine are second.

The first one is called “Bear’s Paw” from the book 101 Fabulous Small Quilts.

Sandy chose to do hers pretty much like the picture on the pattern.

I decided to change it up and use 2 main colors.

The next 2 patterns are by Buttermilk Basin and called “Basin Banners Thru the Year”.  The first one is the month of February and the second one is March.

Did you noticed that the lettering on our jars are different?  Well, Sandy made hers like the pattern, but I had to change mine because my grandson’s name is Mason.   Just seemed fitting to change it.  LOL

The next two are Sandy’s.   The pattern is called “Little Red” and it’s in the book “Nine Patch Gatherings” by Primitive Gatherings.  The pattern’s general instructions show you a method of making 2 sets of nine patches.  A positive and a negative. (one block with the darks in the corners and one block with the lights in the corners).

And…well….I didn’t read the instructions.  Oops…  So I only ended up with one little quilt which I strip pieced!  Also, not sure if you noticed, but Sandy and I both used the same red fabric.  I’m not sure that has ever happened.  Great minds!

The last projects is another one by Primitive Gatherings called “Snowball Candlemat”.

So that’s it for the last 2 months.

I have a bunch of pictures that I haven’t  shared of my Christmas party in Calif, and of Marsha’s house (our hostess).  Hopefully, I will get them posted in the next few days.   (For sure before Valentine’s Day)  Hee hee.

Oh, one more thing.   If you’ve asked me a question and I haven’t gotten back to you, it’s probably because you are a “no reply” commenter.   To fix that, you can read how on Anna’s blog, Woolie Mammoth.  She has a great tutorial.   Anyway, if you still need an answer to something, email me at abryson0416@gmail.com.    Thx.

Again, thanks for stopping by.   I’ve missed you all.

Hugs, Anne
